Summer Professional Enrichment (SPE) Intern | Evonik Corporation

The Tone:
This is a 12-week seasonal internship at Evonik Corporation, located at various sites across the United States. Evonik is a specialty chemicals company that provides innovative solutions across diverse markets, including chemical manufacturing, operations, environmental health & safety, and pharmaceutical ingredient coatings. This role offers undergraduate students an opportunity to apply academic knowledge to practical, meaningful projects, gain real-world experience, and build professional connections within the chemical industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Application: Apply skills acquired through university education to meaningful technical projects.
• Team Collaboration: Gain experience working on a cross-functional team for a regional group project.
• Project Contribution: Work on projects in fields such as manufacturing/operations or environmental health & safety.
• Technical Execution: Contribute to tasks like updating procedures, redlining P&IDs, creating Gantt charts, or reviewing technical drawings for engineering standards.
• Professional Development: Network with professionals, meet executives from the North American Leadership Team, and learn more about Evonik’s business portfolio.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience required; the program duration is May 18th – August 7th, 2026.
• Skills: Ability to apply chemical engineering or chemistry principles to practical problems; Collaboration and teamwork; Attention to detail for technical documentation and project execution.
• Bonus: Ability to relocate anywhere in the US; Authorization to work in the US without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
