Summer Research Assistant | Clemson University
The Tone:
This is a summer employment role at Clemson University, located in Charleston, SC. This role supports ongoing agricultural research projects at the Edisto REC, contributing directly to important studies and data collection in a hands-on environment.

• Mission: Assist researchers with field, greenhouse, and lab responsibilities for ongoing agricultural projects.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze Samples: Perform accurate and safe laboratory analysis of research samples.
• Collect Data: Assist with the collection of data from crops in both field and greenhouse settings.
• Support Cultivation: Help with planting, fertilizing, spraying, and harvesting research plots.
• Perform General Support: Carry out other duties as assigned to support ongoing research projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: No specific education is required, but candidates should possess a fundamental working knowledge of relevant concepts, practices, and procedures, with the ability to apply them in varied situations.
• Experience: Some prior agriculture experience is preferred.
• Skills: Laboratory analysis, data collection, agricultural plot maintenance.
• Bonus: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with a Class D driver’s license (normal < 26,000).
