Junior DevSecOps Engineer | Sev1Tech

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Sev1Tech, located in Mechanicsburg, PA, or Yorktown, VA. Sev1Tech supports the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Ordnance Information System (OIS) program in modernizing its legacy IT systems. This role is crucial for implementing the DevSecOps pipeline execution plan, ensuring maximum performance and quality through strategic automations and efficiencies for vital IT modernization efforts. You will be instrumental in creating best-in-class tooling for various technical teams within a mission-critical program.

• Team: Reports to the Lead Pipeline / DevSecOps Engineer, working with the DevSecOps Engineering team, software developers, production/operations, and integration teams.
• Mission: Implement the pipeline execution plan to maximize performance and quality with the right automations and efficiencies for IT modernization efforts.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Implement: Execute the CI/CD and DevSecOps execution plan to maximize system performance and quality outcomes.
• Monitor: Oversee CI/CD and DevSecOps capabilities and processes to ensure alignment with Navy policies, implementing security architecture with automation and proper data/environment separation.
• Build: Create CI/CD-based version control, automated builds, and release management systems that meet Navy requirements.
• Document: Draft, edit, and coordinate documentation for the program’s enterprise CI/CD and DevSecOps strategy, including high-level data flow, end-to-end data management, and tool integration with Jira, Jenkins, Selenium, Ansible, GitLab, and Docker.
• Collaborate: Engage daily with extended teams to monitor DevSecOps implementation, track solutions, provide status updates, manage schedules, and identify risks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with an AA/AS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience: 1+ years of prior relevant DevSecOps experience, including CI/CD pipeline automation tools, cloud environments, Docker containers, Terraform, and AWS cloud services.
• Skills: Fully adjudicated DOD T5 Top Secret Clearance (required to start), IAT II: Security+ baseline certification (required to start), computing environment certification (AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or similar within 3 months), experience with GitLab, Docker, strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
• Bonus: Understanding and experience with Ansible, Java, J2EE, Oracle, WebLogic, Tomcat; familiarity with Jenkins, Jira, Nexus, Maven, OpenShift, SonarQube, Fortify, Junit, Karma, Selenium, Cyprus, Artifactory; experience in network and cyber security design for Navy capabilities; experience developing models using Sparx EA, Splunk, MuleSoft, SalesForce; knowledge of NIST SP 800 series or ISO 27000 series documents; experience with Angular, ReactJS, Spring MVC, JQuery, JSF, JSP, MyBatis, Hibernate, IBM MQ, Kafka, ELK, or PLSQL; experience with server virtualization technologies (VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V) and operating systems (RedHat Linux, Windows Server); familiarity with ITIL, ISO20000 / ISO27001 implementations, or prior Navy IT projects.
