Marketing & Communications Summer Intern | Steampunk

The Tone:
This is a summer internship at Steampunk, located in McLean, VA. Steampunk is a Federal contracting industry change agent, bringing new thinking and human-centered delivery to clients in the Homeland, Federal Civilian, Health, and DoD sectors. This role is crucial for assisting with marketing, communications, sales, and event-related special projects, directly contributing to the evolution of Steampunk’s brand and supporting client portfolios.

• Mission: Assist with special projects related to Marketing, Communications, Sales/Delivery Support, and Events to evolve Steampunk’s brand and support client portfolios.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Brand Evolution: Develop and execute an experience-based brand presence across all communication channels, ensuring consistency and engagement.
• Content Creation: Conceive, write, and deliver compelling content specific to target audiences that reinforces value propositions and brand positioning.
• Digital Presence: Help deploy website updates and other digital tools, ensuring proper maintenance and development.
• Internal Communications: Improve internal communications through newsletter creation, communications for special projects, and corporate initiatives.
• Event Management: Assist with company, portfolio, and industry event management as necessary.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student, rising college junior or senior, or current senior, seeking a rewarding Marketing and Communications summer internship opportunity with a government technology services organization.
• Experience: Current with digital tools and technology, demonstrating high learning agility.
• Skills: Highly focused planning and project management, excellent team-building and collaboration, strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills, attention to detail, and creativity.
• Bonus: Local to the DMV area.
