The Tone:

As a Front Desk Agent, you will be the first and last point of contact for our guests, directly impacting their overall satisfaction by ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience from check-in to check-out.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Guest Welcome & Registration: Greet and warmly welcome guests upon arrival, then efficiently register them into the computer system by verifying reservation details, address information, and processing credit authorization.
• Financial Transactions & Reporting: Expertly handle all guest account payments during both registration and check-out, meticulously maintaining a house bank, cashing checks, exchanging currency, and preparing accurate daily reports of all receipts.
• Guest Service & Program Promotion: Actively promote the Guest Loyalty Program, providing recognition and benefits to all eligible members, while also courteously responding to and processing diverse guest requests, including late check-outs, room changes, lock-outs, billing inquiries, and extensions of stay.
• Security & Charge Posting: Oversee the security of guest valuables by issuing keys and controlling entrance to safety deposit boxes, and accurately post any miscellaneous charges to guest accounts as requested.
• Information & Reservation Assistance: Contribute to guest convenience by assisting with mail and facsimiles, providing comprehensive information about hotel facilities and local attractions, and handling direct guest reservations at the Front Desk.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school or equivalent education required. Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to work effectively in stressful situations, communicate clearly with others, deal positively with customers, and adapt to frequent changes and interruptions.
• Experience: Demonstrated basic computational ability and proficiency in basic computer skills required for daily operations. Must be able to manage frequent activity changes and cope with interruptions while maintaining effectiveness.
• Skills: Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear interaction with guests, supervisors, and colleagues. Must possess extensive knowledge of the hotel’s services and facilities, along with a general familiarity with the city of Charleston and its attractions.
• Bonus: Completion of the South Carolina state-approved ServSafe Alcohol Online Course & Exam within 30 days of hire. Possession of a valid ABL Server License issued by the state of South Carolina within 30 days of hire.
