Member Service Representative | Credit Union

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at Credit Union. As a Member Service Representative, you are at the heart of our member experience, ensuring that all financial transactions, from deposits to loan payments, are handled with precision and care. You will be instrumental in building relationships by understanding individual member needs and actively participating in the promotion of valuable Credit Union products and services. Your commitment to maintaining high service standards directly contributes to the financial well-being of our members and the overall success and reputation of the Credit Union.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Full Time – 40 hours a week
• Mission: This role ensures accurate member account transactions and promotes Credit Union offerings to meet financial needs and uphold service quality.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Member Transactions: Efficiently process a comprehensive range of member account transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, wires, Cashier Check purchases, loan and VISA advances, lobby drops, and account closures.
• Daily Operations & Cash Management: Accurately balance your assigned cash drawer on a daily basis, manage direct deposit forms and incoming mail, and provide essential dual control for balancing the cash vault.
• Financial Advising & Referrals: Proactively identify members’ financial needs, effectively offer relevant credit union products and services, or refer members to specialized representatives or partners, actively participating in campaigns and meeting performance goals.
• Compliance & Security: Adhere strictly to AML/BSA policy and procedures, including the preparation of CTRs, identification and referral of suspicious activities to the Compliance Department, performing OFAC comparisons, and ensuring proper member identification.
• Member Support & Documentation: Address basic member inquiries regarding their accounts, conduct routine account research as needed, and assist members by accurately accepting and completing various necessary forms.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, preparing you for an early career role focused on direct member service and financial transaction processing.
• Experience: Possess a minimum of one year of direct customer service experience, demonstrating proven ability to interact effectively with clients.
• Skills: Exhibit effective human relations and communication skills, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and identify member needs for product and service offerings.
• Bonus: Prior cash handling experience is a preferred qualification for this role.
