Order Fulfillment Associate | Lowe’s

The Tone:
This is an in-person role at Lowe’s, focusing on the critical aspect of getting products to customers. Lowe’s serves customers with home improvement and hardware needs, and this role directly supports that mission by ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. A vital contributor to customer satisfaction, this position demands a customer-first approach and strong teamwork to maintain operational excellence within the store environment.

The TL;DR

• Mission: This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders, directly contributing to overall customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick, stage, inspect, and fulfill customer orders on time while maintaining clean, organized, and safe staging areas.
• Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service by selecting high-quality items, validating orders, answering customer questions, and directing them to appropriate associates as needed.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain certification for powered equipment, including Counterbalance Forklift, Order Picker, and Narrow Aisle Reach Truck, strictly adhering to all safety requirements.
• Inventory Management: Support precise inventory records by utilizing the Orders App, ensuring SIMS compliance, and collaborating with leadership to resolve any short picks.
• Operational Support: Complete essential administrative duties, maintenance tasks, and readiness activities such as audits, order follow-ups, and locker management, promptly reporting any safety concerns or potential theft.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with a customer-first mindset, committed to operational excellence in an order fulfillment environment.
• Experience: Six months of experience using a computer for inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information, plus six months of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
• Skills: Ability to obtain and maintain certification for powered equipment including Counterbalance Forklift, Order Picker, and Narrow Aisle Reach Truck; strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Bonus: High school diploma or GED; six months of retail experience; six months of experience in a customer service or product fulfillment position, particularly within a home improvement or hardware retailer (e.g., kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden departments); or six months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading product or material in or out of vehicles.
