Job Title: Landscape Architect
Location: Boston
Job Summary
Langan is seeking a collaborative and passionate Landscape Architect to join our team in Boston. This individual will play a key role in assisting with the planning, design, and permitting of landscape architecture, land development, and planning projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on integrated design services for both public and private sector clients across the United States and internationally.
Our current project portfolio is diverse, encompassing:
- Urban revitalization and streetscape design
- Retail and commercial developments
- School and university design projects
- Healthcare client assignments
- Smart growth planning and community design
- Rooftop and courtyard projects
- Brownfield redevelopment initiatives
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of landscape architecture, civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects utilizing design, engineering, and graphic software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator) and equipment to prepare landscape architecture and design documents.
- Perform zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments, and assist with determining project feasibility based on the analysis of collected data.
- Assist with the preparation and modification of various design and engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans for projects.
- Assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data, and their impact on the planning and design of projects, utilizing reports, maps, drawings, design and engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs.
- Provide field inspection services, as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
- Experience: 0-3 years of work-related experience.
- Passion: Demonstrated passion for design excellence and the challenges of creating inspiring places in urban environments.
- Technical Skills: Highly creative individual with exceptional computer skills in Adobe Suite, Sketchup, and AutoCAD.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment.
- Transportation: Possess reliable transportation to access job sites and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Salary Information
The estimated salary range for this role is: $70,000 – $85,500.
Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm’s annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time, and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience, and level.
