What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop: Develop fundamental nursing skills and clinical proficiency across diverse patient populations, specifically within medical-surgical settings.
• Provide: Provide compassionate and specialized care for patients with varying acuity levels, including those requiring a higher level of monitoring in progressive care units or focusing on therapeutic communication for patients with mental health needs.
• Respond: Thrive in acute and emergent conditions by honing critical assessment and intervention skills within the Emergency Department environment.
• Collaborate: Function effectively within established guidelines, fostering strong therapeutic relationships with patients, their families, and all professional and supportive personnel involved in patient care.
• Contribute: Actively participate in identifying solutions for variances from patient goals and engage in the implementation of these solutions to promote optimum patient outcomes, ensuring alignment with Henry Ford Health’s philosophy and goals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required. Candidates must also enroll in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within three years of hire and complete their BSN degree within five years of hire. This is an early career role for individuals with minimal prior nursing experience.
• Experience: Less than six (6) months of experience in any related area of nursing practice.
• Skills: Critical thinking and clinical reasoning; Therapeutic communication and relationship building with patients, families, and staff; Acute patient assessment and intervention for emergent conditions; Effective collaboration within an interprofessional healthcare team.
• Bonus: BLS Health care provider certification is preferred prior to hire, with successful completion required within orientation.
