Software Engineering & Quality Assurance Intern | Kinective

The Tone:
This is an internship at Kinective, located in Golden, CO. Kinective is transforming FinTech by building software that connects financial institutions to modern fintech solutions, bridging a significant technology gap in a historically complex industry. This role is crucial for bright and driven students and professionals to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world products used by financial institutions nationwide, directly contributing to meaningful projects that ship to production.

• Team: Product Development teams including Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, QA Analysts, and DevOps professionals.
• Mission: To gain hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle, contributing to real features and improvements that modernize banking for financial institutions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaborate: Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Product Management, Engineering, Design, Quality Assurance, and DevOps.
• Contribute: Contribute to real features and improvements across Kinective’s platform, from idea to design, build, test, and release.
• Support: Support product discovery through research, user feedback, and competitive analysis, assisting with defining product requirements, user stories, and technical documentation.
• Participate: Participate in software development, testing, debugging, and quality assurance efforts, including UI/UX design reviews, usability evaluations, and manual/automated testing.
• Engage: Engage in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and brainstorming sessions, sharing ideas to improve product quality, performance, and user experience.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and entering your junior or senior year (or recently graduated) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Applied Mathematics, or other relevant areas. Early Career.
• Experience: No specific years required.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity about how things work; ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with teammates; comfort learning new tools, technologies, and workflows; motivation to take ownership and ask questions; interest in software development, product management, UX design, or quality assurance.
• Bonus: Relevant coursework, internships, or personal projects (coding, design, research, testing, etc.) are a plus.
