The Role: Empowering Our Core Platform

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will be a critical contributor to our platform engineering team, responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of mission-critical backend services and APIs. You will work on greenfield projects and enhance existing systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and security. This role demands a strong understanding of distributed system architecture, a passion for clean code, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a high-throughput environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance backend services primarily using languages like Go, Python, or Java.
• Collaborate closely with product management, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to translate complex requirements into technical specifications and deliver innovative solutions.
• Lead by example in writing clean, maintainable, testable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and upholding our commitment to code quality.
• Optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency, proactively identifying and addressing technical debt.
• Contribute significantly to the technical strategy and roadmap of our backend platform, influencing future architectural decisions.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their growth and contributing to a strong engineering culture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, ensuring high availability and system stability within a 24/7 operational environment.
• Champion and implement strong testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Design and implement efficient data storage solutions using both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a proven track record of delivering scalable systems.
• Expertise in at least one modern backend language such as Go, Python, or Java, and familiarity with relevant frameworks (e.g., Gin, Flask, Spring Boot).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems principles, microservices architecture, and API design (RESTful, gRPC).
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and practical experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of database design, query optimization, and experience with various database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience with message queues and asynchronous processing (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and agile development environment.

• Experience with event-driven architectures and stream processing.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant work.
