About the Job: New Grad RN / RN – Float/Resource Pool
The New Grad RN position is designed for recent RN graduates or those with less than one year of RN experience. New Grad RNs will initially work under a licensed RN until their own license can be verified.
Intermountain’s Nurse Residency Program
In conjunction with unit work, New Grad RNs are required to attend Intermountain’s comprehensive one-year nurse residency program. This program is tailored to support their transition from classroom theory to practical caregiver responsibilities through a variety of learning modalities, including webinars, simulations, case studies, and in-person meetings. Please note: An RN with more than one year of nursing experience is not required to attend the nurse residency program.

Minimum Qualifications
For New Grad RN:
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing/RN education program (education will be verified).
- Entry Pay: $31.95
For RN:
- Current RN License in state of practice.
- Entry Pay: $34.53
Preferred Qualification (for both New Grad RN and RN):
- Candidates that have passed NCLEX and/or have an RN license.
Common Qualifications (for both New Grad RN and RN):
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.

Physical Requirements and Demands
- Ongoing Need: Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent Interactions: With patient care providers, patients, and visitors, requiring verbal communication, hearing, and understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual Dexterity: Of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Lifting and Movement: Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Mobility: Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).
- Standing: May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Hourly Range: $31.95 – $34.53 (Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience, with the entry pay for New Grad RN being $31.95 and for RN being $34.53).
