Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Services team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining core platform services that power our entire product suite. You will work on high-impact projects, ensuring our foundational services are reliable, scalable, and performant. This role requires a strong background in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and a passion for building robust backend infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable and reliable microservices for our core platform.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to define service requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in primary languages like Java, Go, or Python.
• Implement and advocate for best practices in software development, including testing, code reviews, and documentation.
• Optimize existing services for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, ensuring high availability and system reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support critical production systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform our platform strategy.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a significant focus on backend systems and platform services.
• Strong proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Go, Python.
• Extensive experience with designing and building highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including services like EC2/ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS/Kafka.
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog).
• Prior experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
