THE TEAM
The Integration Team is an integral part of a larger development organization dedicated to supporting Ticketmaster’s Core Ticketing platforms, notably Archtics. Archtics stands as the primary application suite utilized by major sports leagues globally, including the NFL, NHL, and NBA, as well as significant event venues. This robust platform facilitates critical functions such as CRM/retention, marketing initiatives, renewals, invoice/payment processing, comprehensive inventory control, and detailed reporting, managing over $4 billion in transactions annually.
The core mission of the Integration Team is to provide essential support to Ticketmaster’s diverse client base, encompassing major sports teams and entertainment venues. Additionally, the team fosters “Nexus” vendor partnerships, strategically enhancing Ticketmaster’s B2B offerings. This involves expanding the product portfolio with best-of-breed solution providers. Key responsibilities include: providing seamless access to data through various channels like APIs, file-based delivery, and streaming, as well as addressing a myriad of miscellaneous requests that fall outside the scope of other development teams.
THE JOB
As a Software Development Intern, you will be deeply embedded within our experienced software development team. This role offers a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the design, development, and rigorous testing of cutting-edge software solutions. This internship is meticulously structured to furnish you with invaluable real-world experience, expose you to prevailing industry best practices, and empower you to make a tangible and meaningful impact on our ongoing projects.
What You Will Be Doing
- Coding and Programming: You will actively collaborate with the development team to author well-designed, highly efficient, and maintainable code, strictly adhering to established coding standards.
- Software Design and Architecture: Contribute significantly to the design and architectural planning of software solutions, meticulously considering crucial factors such as scalability, optimal performance, and an exceptional user experience.
- Testing and Debugging: Provide crucial assistance in the thorough testing and diligent debugging of software applications to ensure they consistently meet stringent quality standards. This includes systematically identifying and effectively addressing issues through comprehensive troubleshooting.
- Collaboration: Engage in close collaboration with various cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and fellow developers, to consistently deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Documentation: Take responsibility for creating and meticulously maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, which includes detailed code comments, clear system architecture documentation, and intuitive user manuals.
- Learning and Growth: Cultivate a continuous learning mindset, staying thoroughly up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Actively participate in team discussions and eagerly share your insights.
- Interaction: Closely interact with senior developers, management, Project Management, Product Management, Operations, and a wide variety of teams throughout the organization, fostering a collaborative environment.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with at least 2 years of completed coursework.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages, such as Java, Python, C++. Hands-on experience is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies.
