ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY – LITIGATION (JUNIOR-LEVEL)

INSURANCE COVERAGE PRACTICE

Location: Miami, FL (HYBRID)

Our client, a leading international law firm, is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join its thriving Insurance Coverage Practice Group. This prominent and growing practice specializes in handling complex, high-value coverage litigation and market conduct matters for a diverse clientele of both domestic and international insurers. The scope of work encompasses a broad range of areas, including commercial general liability, commercial property (with a focus on business interruption and environmental matters), errors and omissions claims involving attorneys, agents, and accountants, as well as directors’ and officers’ coverage disputes.

Candidate Profile

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record
  • Law Review and/or Honors required
  • Active Bar Admission in Florida, in good standing
  • 2 years of substantive litigation experience, with a demonstrated focus on insurance coverage matters
  • Proven experience analyzing complex insurance policies
  • Ability to provide clear, concise, and actionable coverage recommendations
  • Demonstrated experience drafting various litigation-related documents
  • Experience participating in litigation proceedings, including depositions and mediations, among others
  • Familiarity with some or all of the following: bad faith insurance claims, commercial general liability, commercial property, errors & omissions, and directors’ & officers’ coverage
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze intricate insurance policies and draft detailed coverage opinions
  • Provide clear and actionable coverage recommendations for clients
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and other advanced research tools
  • Actively participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Draft interrogatories, document requests, and prepare thorough responses
  • Review and meticulously analyze large document collections in preparation for litigation
  • Engage in direct and substantive communication with domestic and international insurers
  • Collaborate closely with partners and team members to advance case objectives with efficiency and precision

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary: Expected annual base salary of $125,000 – $135,000, as determined by experience and prevailing market factors.
