Job Description

As a Read/Write Channel Integration Engineer, you will work with industry-leading Hard Disk Drive (HDD) technology. This role involves evaluating new channel features, performing failure analysis, and developing scripts and tools to test an advanced digital signal processing chip used for data recording and readback.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Integration of vendor channels to maximize HDD read/write performance.
• Test HDDs in a hands-on, lab-based environment, utilizing oscilloscopes for failure analysis (FA).
• Develop and execute hardware test plans; summarize and present results to internal and external teams.
• Utilize software skills to support and develop effective test tools.
• Collaborate closely with vendor technical support teams and internal Western Digital product development teams.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Persistence in problem/issue resolution.
• Excellent communication skills and a good team player.
• Strong programming skills (Python, C/C++, Tcl, etc.) preferred.
