Procurement Intern

Company: Progressive (as part of our client’s team)

Compensation: $23.50 / hr

Position Overview

As a Procurement Intern, you will gain hands-on experience within Progressive’s dynamic Procurement/Sourcing team. This isn’t about routine tasks; it’s an opportunity to dive deep into crucial business processes and strategic initiatives. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of Progressive’s Purchase to Pay Process and Category/Commodity Management.

Key aspects of your role will include:

• Networking with diverse business stakeholders and experienced sourcing professionals.
• Creating and analyzing data to drive informed decisions.
• Sharing insights and learnings with team members and leaders, contributing directly to strategic discussions.

Requirements

We are looking for an ambitious and engaged individual who meets the following criteria:

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma/GED equivalent or higher, and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Communication, Sales, Actuarial, Management Information Systems, Risk Management, Human Resources, Accountancy, Management, Media Studies, or any field of study in which you will meet the minimum requirements for a full-time role within 12 months of successful completion of this internship.
• Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a detailed-oriented and organized environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and possess strong intellectual curiosity.
