As we continuously seek more sustainable construction methods, we are building a team of world-class talent. We are looking for an Environmental Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 who is deeply passionate about sustainability, driven by intellectual curiosity, and keen to learn, develop, and contribute within a dynamic, high-performance environment. This exceptional opportunity is a 10-week, paid internship, commencing on May 27th, 2026. This internship will be based at our facility in Ravena, NY.

What You’ll Be Doing: Hands-On Environmental Stewardship

As an Environmental Engineer Intern, you will work collaboratively with our dedicated team to ensure our cement plant operates with the highest level of environmental responsibility. You will play a crucial role in evaluating, enhancing, and implementing our environmental practices, engaging directly with field employees to refine procedures and foster a culture of sustainability.

  • Environmental Program Enhancement: Actively participate in the continuous improvement of Amrize’s environmental initiatives. You will contribute innovative ideas, fresh perspectives, and data-driven insights to help shape and implement advanced environmental programs.
  • Field Engagement & Guidance: Engage in daily interactions with plant employees and contractors, providing essential guidance, training, and support on environmental best practices and procedures. You will be a visible advocate for our environmental commitments.
  • Inspections, Monitoring & Testing: Conduct regular, thorough environmental inspections, comprehensive monitoring, and detailed testing of equipment, processes, and emissions. Your work will ensure stringent compliance with all internal and external environmental standards and regulations.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Systematically collect and rigorously analyze vital environmental data, spanning air and water quality, comprehensive waste management, and energy consumption metrics. Your analysis will be instrumental in identifying trends, pinpointing areas for improvement, and informing strategic decision-making.
  • Safety Protocols & Culture: Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to communicating, improving, and strictly adhering to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies across all work environments. You will actively promote and embody a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Skill Application & Collaboration: Apply a diverse range of engineering skills, academic knowledge, and problem-solving abilities in day-to-day operations. You will work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve both team-specific and overarching company goals.

Schedule and Environment: An Immersive Experience

  • Work Schedule: This is an onsite role requiring a mandatory 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, with an 8-hour shift each day.
  • Work Environment: You will be immersed in an active cement manufacturing and production environment. This includes exposure to moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, and varying weather conditions. Safety is paramount, and all necessary PPE and safety training will be provided.
  • Transportation: Interns are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from their designated worksites.
  • Travel: Throughout the internship, there may be opportunities for occasional travel to other Amrize sites for plant tours, shadowing experiences with professionals, or participation in intern events, enriching your overall experience.
