About The Role:
As a System Test Engineering Intern, you will play a crucial role within an engineering team dedicated to the validation of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems. This dynamic internship will immerse you in the full lifecycle of system testing, from supporting the creation of detailed test procedures to actively participating in hands-on testing and compiling comprehensive test reports. You will contribute to the ongoing improvement of test methods, systems, and tools, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of system verification, validation, and quality assurance processes. A key aspect of this role involves identifying and troubleshooting potential hardware, design, and software issues within integrated I&C systems, providing invaluable support to the test team.
Reporting Structure & Location:
You will report directly to the System Testing Manager.
This is a paid, full-time, onsite summer position located at our facility in Warrendale, PA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide essential support for prototype testing of new Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs, ensuring functionality and performance.
- Assist in the development of specialized test tools critical for the rigorous testing of Instrumentation and Control systems, vital for both new plant installations and upgrade projects.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for all test activities, ensuring clarity and traceability.
- Support the resolution of technical issues by performing detailed troubleshooting on I&C systems.
- Assist in the development of detailed test procedures and other crucial test documentation, laying the groundwork for effective system validation.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Must have completed your Sophomore year of college by the start of the internship.
- No relocation assistance will be provided for this position.
Compensation:
Westinghouse is committed to transparency and equity. The estimated hourly rate for this position, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, ranges from $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
