Role & Responsibilities

As a Civil Construction Intern, you will work alongside Benesch’s Construction Engineering professionals who are dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions for infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the inspection and documentation of road, water main, and sewer construction projects.
  • Gaining hands-on field experience in construction observation.
  • Assisting with project documentation.
  • Learning directly from experienced engineers and project managers.

Location

This internship is field-based, with opportunities to collaborate on active projects and receive mentorship from Project Engineers and Project Managers in Michigan.

What You Will Need (Qualifications)

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (EIT preferred).
  • Experience working on field projects a plus.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS, MicroStation, GeoPak, and/or AutoCAD is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently within budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
