Job Description:
Takeda’s Cell Line Development (CLD) team plays a critical role in advancing biologics manufacturing by creating and characterizing robust, high-yield cell lines. This team supports discovery and development programs by engineering cellular platforms optimized for therapeutic protein production, ensuring the application of cutting-edge technologies to generate safe, consistent, and scalable cell lines. The CLD function directly contributes to Takeda’s mission to deliver transformative medicines globally.
As a Cell Line Development Intern, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience in molecular and cell biology. You will support projects contributing to Takeda’s biologics pipeline, working under the guidance of experienced scientists and actively participating in lab-based research and analysis.
How You Will Contribute (Key Responsibilities):
Under the manager’s supervision, duties will include:
- Perform molecular cloning and vector design.
- Prepare and validate vector constructs.
- Conduct CHO cell culture and transfection experiments.
- Draft and maintain experimental protocols and documentation.
- Contribute to careful record keeping, data analysis, and presentation.

Job Requirements (Qualifications):
- This position is Fully Onsite at our Cambridge, MA office.
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and/or biochemistry.
Internship Eligibility:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship.
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later.
- The internship program is 10-12 weeks, depending on the start dates:
- May 26th – August 14th OR
- June 15th – August 21st
- The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames.
- Able to work full time (40 hours a week) during internship dates.
- Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S. Summer Internship Program.

Takeda Compensation and Benefits Summary:
- Location: USA – MA – Cambridge – Binney St
- U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $21.00 – $46.00. The actual hourly wage will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of the internship, and will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements.
- U.S. Internship Benefits (vary by location, may include):
