What You’ll Do: Core Responsibilities
- Engineering Analysis: Perform detailed heat loss/gain load calculations for various building systems and accurately interpret the results to inform design decisions.
- Equipment Selection: Select appropriate HVAC equipment and develop comprehensive equipment schedules.
- System Design & Layout: Precisely size and layout hydronic piping and HVAC ductwork systems, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Estimating Support: Collaborate closely with the estimating team to develop accurate bids and proposals for new opportunities.
- Project Management Assistance: Provide essential support to project managers, including vendor solicitations, managing equipment submittals, and participating in job site visits to monitor progress and address issues.
- Field Engagement: Engage directly with field personnel to gain a practical understanding of installation processes and identify potential efficiencies or challenges.
- Problem-Solving: Actively work with the engineering team to identify, analyze, and solve complex engineering challenges that arise during projects.
- Communication & Presentation: Clearly and concisely present findings, analysis, and solutions to team members and stakeholders.
- Data Analysis: Research, compile, and meticulously analyze complex data to form sound conclusions and recommendations.
What We’re Looking For: Qualifications & Attributes
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred), design, project management, or a related technical field.
- Technical Acumen:
- A basic understanding of fundamental concepts such as heat transfer, thermal envelopes, airflow dynamics, and water flow calculations is essential.
- Communication Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and effective interaction with colleagues, vendors, and field personnel.
