Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and self-starting engineering student eager to learn, adapt, and contribute to our Huntsville, AL office. As an Engineering Intern, you will play a crucial role by:

  • Assisting with Comprehensive Engineering Analyses: Support our expert engineers in performing rigorous analyses, detailed simulations, and hands-on testing. Your contributions will directly inform and enhance our lethality assessments, critical for understanding and improving system performance.
  • Contributing to Model & Algorithm Development: Engage in the exciting process of developing, refining, and validating advanced models and algorithms. This involves applying theoretical knowledge to practical problems, enhancing our predictive capabilities.
  • Collaborating on Complex Technical Challenges: Work closely with a diverse team of engineers and scientists to tackle intricate technical problems. You’ll gain exposure to real-world engineering hurdles and participate actively in brainstorming innovative solutions.
  • Documenting & Presenting Findings: Meticulously document your research, analysis, and experimental findings. You will have the opportunity to present your results and insights to the team, honing your communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this impactful internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline, with a strong preference for students focusing on Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Successful completion of at least four (4) semesters (or equivalent) toward your engineering degree by Summer 2026.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated programming experience, particularly with languages like Python, is essential.

Desired Skills:

Candidates possessing the following skills will be highly regarded:

  • Prior experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for mechanical design, modeling, or visualization.
  • Proficiency in Python programming applied to data analysis, scientific computing, or task automation.
  • A strong foundational understanding of physics and its practical application to complex engineering problems.

Clearance Requirements:

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance is required for this position. Please note that U.S. Citizenship is a mandatory requirement for most positions within MTSi, including this internship.
