Job Summary

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

We are thrilled to offer current college students an immersive experience through our Aggregate Internship Development Program. This intensive 10-week program, commencing annually in May, is meticulously designed to provide hands-on experience and a deep, practical understanding of our operations within the Aggregate division. As an Intern Development Program (IDP) participant, you will gain exposure to various critical areas, including the core Aggregate functions of Mine Planning, Process Improvements, Quality and Reliability, Inventory Maintenance, and Data Management.

As a Cemex USA Intern, your summer will be brimming with unique opportunities to learn, contribute, and grow. Your main responsibilities and experiences will include, but are not limited to:

Qualifications

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking ambitious students who are eager to explore the world of end-to-end Aggregate Operations and maximize this unparalleled learning opportunity. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Educational Foundation: Active pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Geology, or a related field, with at least junior year standing.
  • Academic Performance: A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above, with a strong preference for those with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Leadership Potential: Demonstrated leadership qualities and a proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Communication Skills: Strong analytical and effective communication abilities, with the capability to present ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Previous experience gained through internships, co-op programs, or relevant university projects, showcasing a passion for the industry and valuable insights.
  • Team Collaboration: Enjoyment of both independent work and effective teamwork within a collaborative environment.

Working Conditions

  • Work Schedule: This is a full-time, on-site internship with a consistent 40-hour work week, typically Monday through Friday.
  • Environment: Expect a dynamic mix of office work and fieldwork, where you will be exposed to varying environmental conditions, including outdoor settings.
