Job Title: Internship – Environmental Engineering for Environmental Consulting

Compensation: $23.00 / hour
What Is the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern for its 2026 Internship Program. This opportunity provides a blend of hands-on fieldwork and a defined capstone project within the intern’s scope of study, along with exposure to various service areas within the firm. Interns will work closely with senior- and principal-level professionals, assisting with project-related tasks and gaining significant insight into the world of professional environmental consulting. The program aims for interns to achieve a solid understanding of environmental consulting upon completion.
Interns will be required to regularly come into an office and potentially perform fieldwork, depending on project needs.

What Are We Looking For? (Qualifications)
- Current undergraduate or graduate students majoring in a field related to Anchor QEA’s areas of expertise, such as:
- Engineering (coastal, geotechnical, environmental, civil, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret and apply technical information
- Excellent organizational skills
- Project management mindset to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Desire to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals
- Balance of a professional attitude while having fun
What Are the Responsibilities?
Interns will primarily be responsible for delivering a Defined Capstone Project with assistance from Senior Engineers and other professionals. To support this goal, interns may be asked to:
- Support implementation of remedial investigations/feasibility studies and design evaluations.
- Assist with field planning, data analysis, and report writing.
- Partner to complete field sampling activities (in-water and/or on land), project field documentation, and supporting preparation of figures, tables, and summaries for project deliverables.
- Conduct field activities, including collection of sediment, soil, water, air, waste, or biota samples or other field tasks.
- Complete OSHA HAZWOPER training as required.
- Update documents, calendars, schedules, weekly statuses, etc.
Timeline for the 2026 Internship Program:
- February 9 – February 20: Application submittal period
- March 16 – March 20: Anchor QEA interviews take place nationwide
- March 30 – April 3: Selected candidates receive offers
- May 19: Earliest start date for interns (subject to availability)
