Job Title: News Intern

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Internship Duration: Part-time, 6-month commitment from June 2026 – January 2027

About The Role & Program:
Action News is seeking a motivated intern eager to learn from an experienced team at Philadelphia’s top news source. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop news judgment, enhance writing skills, and gain firsthand experience in the fast-paced world of broadcast news daily.

What You Will Do (On Any Given Day You Might):

  • Travel with reporters and photojournalists for newsgathering and live remotes, including assisting producers with election-coverage content.
  • Write copy and edit video for newscasts.
  • Gain experience editing in Dalet.
  • Observe producers and executive producers in their respective roles.
  • Attend morning and afternoon editorial meetings.
  • Get an up-close look at how news is distributed beyond TV to our myriad of digital and social media platforms.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in broadcasting, new media production, or script writing.
  • Proficiency with video editing experience in Adobe Premiere.
  • Proficiency with social media.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment but also work well independently.

Education:

  • Junior or Senior year preferred.
  • Declared major or previous coursework in a mass media/new media-related field.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.

Additional Information:

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
  • All candidates must be willing to work 20 hours/week during a Monday through Sunday schedule (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor, and could include nights, weekends, holidays and possibly overnights).
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of internship program in the Philadelphia, PA area.
  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work in the Philadelphia, PA area.

Compensation:
The pay rate for this role in Pennsylvania is $22.50 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
