Cybersecurity Intern

Webster Bank’s internship program offers an exciting opportunity for high-performing students to gain invaluable real-world work experience. Designed for rising Junior or Senior undergraduate students, the program aims to create a pipeline of future leaders for Webster. Interns will work side-by-side with Webster/HSA colleagues, acquiring valuable experience, knowledge, and skills. This comprehensive program ensures an unforgettable summer filled with learning, networking, and fun, directly complementing classroom studies. Every internship is structured to provide a meaningful experience, broad exposure to corporate functions, and opportunities for mentorship and networking. Webster’s internship is both demanding and rewarding, thoroughly preparing participants for their careers ahead.

Summer Intern Program duration: June 1 – August 7, 2026.

Key Responsibilities for the Cybersecurity Intern:

• Assist and perform Third Party and Risk Control Self Assessments.
• Work with the Information & Cybersecurity Risk Management team to help resolve open issues and Jira remediation items.
• Contribute to the Awareness and education within the Information Security Awareness Program.
• Provide support to the Operational Resiliency Team.
• Help with special projects within the Security Operations Center.
• Security Engineering – monthly gap analysis process.

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements for Interns:

Education Requirements:
• Current undergraduate rising Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in a related field with an interest in the banking/financial services industry.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
• Resourceful, enthusiastic, and proactive.
• Highly organized.
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail.
• Experience creating and delivering presentations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to learn quickly and solve problems.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Collaborative and inclusive team player.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $21.00/hour USD to $23.00/hour USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
