This internship position is with The Marley Company, a distinguished parent company providing essential administrative support to SPX Enterprises’ HVAC Heating businesses, including notable entities such as WM Technologies, LLC, Marley Engineered Products, LLC, and Patterson-Kelley, LLC. This role specifically encompasses all Weil-McLain® branded products.

What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day promises new and exciting opportunities, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Functional Area Assistance:
    • Work closely with experienced associates by providing essential support on various projects.
    • Coordinate a diverse range of projects from their initial conception through to completion and subsequent follow-up.
    • Provide accurate data and critical information to support informed decision-making.
    • Actively participate in department meetings, contributing your insights and learning from discussions.
    • Support staff on tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist.
  • Process Improvements:
    • Assist in the comprehensive evaluation of existing processes to identify inefficiencies.
    • Proactively identify opportunities for significant efficiency gains and continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate effectively with team members to develop and implement standardized work instructions or comprehensive process documents.
  • Communication Development:
    • Develop and refine strong verbal and written communication skills essential for effective interaction with employees and external stakeholders.
    • Learn and implement best practices for crafting clear, concise, and professional messaging and communications.

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge in an Engineering field.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • A genuine willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and information.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Self-directed and capable of working independently.
  • Possesses excellent initiative, proactively seeking out tasks and solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in field-specific technology relevant to the engineering discipline.

Education & Certifications:

  • Currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study (Engineering) with a successful academic track record.
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

Travel & Working Environment:

  • This role will involve working in an office and/or plant environment.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • When in production areas, there is a frequent requirement for the use of appropriate personal protective equipment, including foot, eye, and ear protection.
