Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Building and Maintaining Cloud Infrastructure: Actively contribute to the development and upkeep of our core cloud infrastructure, ensuring it robustly supports real-time robot operations, critical data processing, and continuous telemetry streams. Your work will directly impact robot uptime and performance.
  • Work with Leading Cloud Tools: Gain hands-on experience utilizing industry-standard technologies such as GCP (Google Cloud Platform), Kubernetes for orchestration, Docker for containerization, and Terraform for infrastructure as code, to deploy and monitor our crucial microservices.
  • Help Monitor and Optimize System Performance: Collaborate with the team to analyze system metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance performance, improve reliability, and optimize cost efficiency across our cloud environments.
  • Collaborate on Cloud API Integration: Work alongside software and robotics engineers to seamlessly integrate cloud APIs with our robot’s onboard software systems, facilitating robust communication and data exchange.
  • Support Data Security and Compliance Efforts: Contribute to initiatives focused on ensuring the highest standards of data security, compliance with relevant regulations, and building resilience across our multi-faceted cloud environments.
  • Participate in Collaborative Development: Actively engage in vital aspects of the software development lifecycle, including participating in insightful code reviews, contributing to design discussions, and assisting in the creation of comprehensive system documentation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None. This is an individual contributor role focused on learning and execution.

Required Skills/Abilities/Qualifications:

  • Academic Pursuit: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Strong Programming Foundation: Demonstrated strong programming skills in at least one major language such as Python, Go, C++, or similar.
  • Passion for Technology: Genuine enthusiasm and a strong interest in robotics, IoT systems, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Problem-Solving Acumen: Excellent problem-solving skills, coupled with inherent curiosity and a proactive eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Cloud and Networking Fundamentals: Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or containerization technologies (Docker), alongside a basic understanding of fundamental networking concepts.
  • Effective Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate effectively within an agile team environment.

Preferred Skills/Abilities (Big Plus):

  • Orchestration and Monitoring Experience: Prior experience or coursework with Kubernetes, Terraform, or monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana.
  • Distributed Systems Knowledge: Experience or coursework related to microservices architectures, cloud security, or distributed systems.

Education/Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Recent graduates with relevant academic backgrounds will also be considered.
