About the Ready-Mix Internship Development Program

We are thrilled to offer current college students an immersive and hands-on experience through our Ready-Mix Internship Development Program. This intensive 10-week program, commencing each May, is specifically designed to provide a deep, practical understanding of our extensive operations within the vital Ready-Mix division. As an Intern Development Participant (IDP) at Cemex USA, you will gain invaluable exposure to a diverse range of critical functions, experiencing the full lifecycle of Ready-Mix production.

Your learning experience will span key areas including:

  • Cement Manufacturing: Understanding the fundamental processes behind our core material.
  • Process Improvements: Identifying opportunities and implementing efficiencies to optimize operations.
  • Quality and Reliability: Ensuring the highest standards and consistency in our products.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Gaining insights into the vital upkeep of our advanced machinery.
  • Production Process: Experiencing the end-to-end journey of Ready-Mix production.

Who We Are Looking For: Your Profile and Qualifications

We are seeking dynamic and eager college students who are passionate about exploring the intricate world of end-to-end Ready-Mix operations and are committed to making the most of this exceptional learning opportunity. Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Educational Foundation: Active pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree with at least junior year standing in disciplines such as Concrete Industry Management (CIM), Construction Science Management/Construction Management, Business Administration/Business Management, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field. We encourage students from a variety of relevant degrees to apply.
  • Academic Performance: A solid academic record with a minimum GPA of 2.5, with a strong preference for candidates who have achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Leadership Potential: Demonstrated leadership qualities and a proactive, problem-solving approach through academic projects, extracurricular activities, or previous work experiences.
  • Communication & Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical capabilities coupled with excellent communication skills, enabling you to articulate ideas clearly, effectively, and persuasively.
  • Technical Proficiency & Passion: A genuine passion for the building materials industry, often evidenced by prior internships, co-op programs, university projects, or relevant coursework.
  • Team Collaboration: The ability to excel both independently and as a valued member of a diverse and collaborative team.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, on-site internship opportunity, requiring a 40-hour work week, typically Monday through Friday. Your work environment will be dynamic, encompassing a balanced mix of office-based tasks and hands-on fieldwork, which may involve exposure to varying environmental conditions, including outdoor settings at our operational sites.
