About the Role: Senior Software Engineer – Platform Innovation

InnovateForge is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Platform Innovation team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the core services and infrastructure that power our flagship products. You will work on challenging problems related to high-throughput data processing, distributed systems, resilient API design, and cloud-native architectures, ensuring our platform remains performant, reliable, and future-proof. Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Development: Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of highly scalable, fault-tolerant microservices and APIs using modern programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java) and cutting-edge frameworks.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, conduct thorough code reviews, and foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
• Architectural Vision: Collaborate closely with architects and product managers to define and refine the technical vision and roadmap for core platform components, translating complex business requirements into actionable engineering tasks.
• Performance & Scalability: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize existing systems for reliability and scalability, and ensure the platform can handle increasing load in distributed environments.
• Cloud-Native Solutions: Work extensively with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), leveraging services like Kubernetes, Kafka, relational/NoSQL databases, and serverless technologies to build resilient infrastructure.
• Operational Excellence: Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the health and stability of our production systems, participating in on-call rotations as needed to support critical services.
• Innovation & R&D: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating and proposing new tools and approaches to continuously improve our engineering practices and platform capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend systems, distributed architectures, and cloud services.
• Programming Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Go, Python, Java, C#) and a willingness to learn others.
• Distributed Systems: Proven experience designing and implementing highly available and scalable distributed systems, including asynchronous messaging, microservices, and robust API design (REST, gRPC).
• Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless technologies.
• Database Knowledge: Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Data Streaming: Demonstrated experience with message brokers and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar).
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills, with a methodical and pragmatic approach to complex technical challenges.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Open-source contributions or personal projects demonstrating technical prowess.
