Technician Trainee Intern

Role Overview
In this dynamic internship, you will be directly involved in the inspection, repair, and service of customer vehicles. Success in this role requires not only technical aptitude but also strong interpersonal skills, as you will frequently interact with customers. Beyond the technical aspects, you will gain invaluable knowledge about electric vehicle architecture and Tesla’s pioneering advancements. Key Responsibilities
- Perform essential, entry-level tasks related to the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and service of Tesla electric vehicles, ensuring adherence to the highest quality and safety standards.
- Safely and proficiently operate a diverse array of hand, power, and specialized shop tools required for vehicle maintenance.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections, make necessary adjustments, and perform certifications to ensure all shop tools and machinery are in optimal working condition.
- Execute thorough Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on new Tesla vehicles, guaranteeing they meet Tesla’s stringent quality benchmarks before customer handover.
- Maintain meticulous inventory records, accurately track work time, and manage shop supplies and parts efficiently.
- Contribute to a premium customer experience by helping to maintain the pristine cleanliness of customer vehicles.
- Provide versatile support to Parts and Front of House operations, either as needed or on a rotational basis, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental methods and techniques utilized in general vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Automotive program is strongly preferred, showcasing a dedicated path in automotive education.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required, along with the capability to reliably commute to training locations or local service centers as necessary.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds safely and repeatedly.
- A proven ability to thrive in a team-based environment, coupled with an unwavering “safety first” attitude.
- A familiar understanding of the English language for clear communication.
- Basic computer proficiency, including navigating web browsers and practical experience with standard applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
