Job Description, Detailed
This is a paid Accounting Intern position within the NextGen Internship Program at Hudson Pacific Properties. The internship is designed to provide valuable real-world experience over a 10-week period, working in-person at the company’s headquarters in Los Angeles. Interns are expected to be integral members of the Accounting team, contributing to daily operations, assisting with special projects, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to gain broad exposure to the company’s inner workings. The program aims to enhance the intern’s learning journey and development within a thriving, forward-thinking company during the summer.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support:
• Month-end Close Support: Assist with simple journal entries, account reconciliations, and data checks during the monthly close cycle.
• Cash & Lease Data Assistance: Track transfers and deposits, review profiles for accuracy, and update relevant spreadsheets.
• Reporting & Project Work: Compile basic schedules, organize data for reporting purposes, and provide assistance for a small showcase project.
• Vendor Management: Support the setup and maintenance of vendors, potentially including a project to update W-9 forms.
• General Accounting Administration Support: Aid with essential digital tasks such as maintaining shared folders, organizing files in SharePoint, updating trackers, ensuring data accuracy in systems, and supporting day-to-day workflow coordination.
• Conduct research, organize data, and prepare reports or presentations as needed.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas to enhance departmental goals.
• Complete a final Summer Showcase presentation outlining learned experiences and project contributions during the internship, to be presented to fellow interns and team members.
• Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need (Qualifications):
• Eligibility: Applicants must have either recently completed (within the last 2 years) or be currently enrolled in an applicable college-level or trade school program.
