Role: Finance Intern
Program Overview:
The Finance Internship is a dynamic 8-week program (with a commitment of 8-10 weeks) designed to immerse participants in the intersection of Finance and Professional Services. Interns will receive guidance from top teams in the K-12 education field, work on real-life business projects, and attend weekly informational sessions to learn about various business areas. The program also emphasizes networking with other students, attending off-site events, and culminates in a final project presentation to Savvas’ senior leaders, showcasing the intern’s impact.
Work Schedule & Location:
This is a full-time opportunity, requiring 40 hours per week. It operates on a hybrid work schedule, necessitating two (2) days onsite at the Chandler, AZ office. Typically, onsite days are Wednesdays and another day determined with the mentor during the first week.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Finance Intern, you will use your educational background and on-the-job training to support data-driven decision-making through advanced analytics and capacity planning. Your role will focus on data integrity and statistical modeling to contribute meaningfully to operational efficiency. Specific responsibilities include:
• Aggregating disparate data sources to build a foundational dataset for capacity analysis.
• Performing data cleaning and normalization to ensure high standards for data accuracy and integrity.
• Developing regression models to identify and connect financial performance with underlying business drivers.
• Gathering raw data from various stakeholders and systems.
• Conducting audits of opportunity data to identify and clear up anomalies.
• Performing ad hoc analysis as requested by the Finance team and cross-functional partners.
What Savvas Learning Company is Looking For (Qualifications):
• Education: A current undergraduate student at an accredited college or university, with a graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027. You should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
• Commitment: Ability to commit to a full-time role (40 hours/week) for eight to ten weeks during the summer.
• Work Environment: Enthusiasm for working in a hybrid environment, with a minimum of two days per week onsite in Chandler, AZ.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., lookups, pivot tables, complex formulas) for data manipulation and modeling.
• Coursework (Preferred): Completed coursework in Statistics, Finance, or Accounting.
• Soft Skills: A great communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to translate numbers into a clear business narrative. Possesses exceptional attention to detail and a high standard for data accuracy and integrity.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (internship opportunities are not eligible for sponsorship).
