Job Description: Internship Program
This description outlines an internship opportunity with Fellowship Recovery, specifically designed for individuals pursuing a career in substance use disorder counseling.
Program Overview:
• Start Date: Spring Term, April 2026.
• Objective: To gain necessary skills and valuable hands-on experience in the treatment of substance use and abuse disorders, particularly within the outpatient 2.1 level of care.
• Guidance: Interns will work alongside experienced professionals and receive support from supervision staff and the Treatment Director.
Role Details:
• Job Type: Part-time.
• Compensation: Paid hourly.
• Rate: $15.00 per hour for the first 440 hours.
• Rate: $18.00 per hour for the second part of the internship.
• Reporting To: Internship Program Supervisor.
• Expected Hours: 30-40 hours per week.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday.
Primary Duties:
• Work actively on-site at the treatment center.
• Attend and participate in group sessions.
• Engage in all required training pertinent to the SUD field.
• Gain practical, hands-on experience across all 12 core competencies relevant to substance abuse counseling.
• Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations to protect patient privacy.
• Actively participate in both individual and group counseling sessions, likely in a supportive or co-facilitator capacity.
• Support the implementation of various behavior management strategies within the clinical setting.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
• Education: Currently enrolled in an ADC-T (Alcohol and Drug Counselor Trainee) or LADC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor) college program.
• Clinical Interest: A strong desire to work with families in a clinical environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficient IT skills.
• Communication: Effective communication skills.
• Attention to Detail: A detail-oriented approach to tasks and responsibilities.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time-management and organizational abilities.
