About the Accounting Intern Job

Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Intern will include:
• Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reports, and other tasks related to the accounting close process.
• Assisting with billing and accounts receivable functions.
• Reviewing budget-to-actual variances and performing fluctuation analysis.
• Documenting processes, internal controls, and workflows.
• Gathering necessary audit documentation.
• Providing support for technology implementations within the accounting department.
Required Qualifications for the Accounting Intern:
• Educational Pursuit: Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field.
• Academic Standing: Sophomore student standing or higher is preferred.
• Coursework: Must have successfully completed lower-level financial and managerial accounting courses.
• Availability: Must be available for the Summer 2026 term (May/June start until August/September, depending on school schedule), with part-time availability after the summer preferred.
• Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Organizational Skills: Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and possess excellent follow-up skills.
• Work Ethic: Must be self-motivated, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work independently.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
