Job Description: FX Intern (Unpaid Internship)

Velanox Studio is seeking talented FX Interns for upcoming projects. This is an unpaid internship, specifically designed for students or emerging artists who aim to gain hands-on professional experience within a studio environment.

• Eager to learn and excited about building FX skills within a real production pipeline.

• Passionate about creating visuals that leave a lasting impact.

Responsibilities:
As an FX Intern, your responsibilities will include:
• Assisting in the creation of stylized and realistic FX for various creative projects.
• Supporting the compositing and 3D teams by preparing FX elements and simulations.
• Learning the process of implementing FX assets into production shots.
• Participating actively in team reviews and applying feedback constructively to improve work quality.
• Collaborating with mentors and peers to meet project deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess:
• Familiarity with Houdini (a must-have).
• Familiarity with other 3D software such as Maya, Cinema4D, or Blender (a plus).
• A basic understanding of dynamics, particles, fluids, or simulations.
• A strong willingness to learn and the ability to take feedback constructively.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Relevant Experience:
The studio values:
• Previous school or personal FX projects, coursework, or demo reels (portfolio links are highly encouraged).
• A genuine passion for visual effects, storytelling, and artistic problem-solving.
• An interest in learning industry workflows, naming conventions, and shot organization.

Program Details:
• Type: Unpaid Internship (for educational/training purposes only).
• Duration: Flexible, typically 8–10 weeks (available part-time or full-time).
• Mentorship: Interns will receive direct feedback from working VFX professionals.
• Outcome: Participants will have the opportunity to build portfolio-ready work, gain credits, and develop an understanding of how a studio pipeline functions.
