Job Description: Quality Engineering Intern

This is a paid internship opportunity for the Summer 2026 program with Boeing, lasting 10-12 weeks. The role focuses on Quality Engineering, offering students a chance to contribute to diverse engineering projects across Boeing’s various sectors, including space systems, military systems, commercial aircraft, or technology development.

Key aspects of the internship include:

Specific responsibilities and experiences within Quality Engineering and Supplier Quality and Performance Management (SQPM) may include:

Quality Engineering: Supporting engineering projects across various disciplines such as Electronic & Electrical, Flight, Materials and Process, Mechanical / Structural, Production and Industrial, Software, Systems, Test and Evaluation, Product Support, Flight Operations, Product Security, Safety, and Airworthiness.
Supplier Quality and Performance Management (SQPM): Within this technical sub-function of Supply Chain, interns will support the verification of technical and procedural compliance for parts, products, and components manufactured by suppliers for BDS military, security, and space programs. This may involve working at supplier sites or within regions.
Compliance & Documentation: Assisting in the integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into proposals, program processes, and documentation.
Metrics & Plans: Developing quality metrics and designing production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements.
Assessments & Validations: Conducting capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
Design Review: Participating in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
Analysis & Audits: Performing analysis and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
Non-Conformance Management: Providing material review dispositions for non-conformances and analyzing non-conformance trends to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
Contract Review: Reviewing contracts for terms and conditions related to supplier quality requirements.
QMS Health: Conducting assessments of Quality Management System health.

Work Environment & Logistics:

Work Arrangement: Positions may be hybrid (requiring some onsite work at a listed location), virtual (not requiring applicants to live near a Boeing facility), or 100% onsite. The specific arrangement is at the hiring team’s discretion and may change.
Security Clearance: Some positions may require the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship.
Export Control: All positions must meet Export Control compliance requirements, meaning a “US Person” (as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15) is required.
Visa Sponsorship: Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
Relocation: Some positions offer relocation assistance based on candidate eligibility.
Shift: Positions are generally for 1st shift.
Drug-Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug-Free Workplace, with post-offer applicants and employees subject to drug and alcohol testing. Some positions are also safety-sensitive and subject to random testing.
NASA Access: Some positions may require the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2026.
• Currently majoring in one of the following core engineering/applied sciences disciplines: Aeronautical/Aerospace, Civil (Structural emphasis/interest), Chemical, Computer Engineering/Science, Electrical, Industrial, Materials, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mathematics, Physics, Software, Structural, Quality, Industrial Engineering Technical, Industrial Management, Operations Research, Engineering Mechanics, and Systems.
• Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation date on or after August 2026.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Strong academic performance (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above).
• Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills, demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations.
• Strong technical experiences demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships.
• Exceptional communication skills, along with interest and enthusiasm related to engineering, aerospace, and a career with Boeing.
Junior or Senior class standing.

Compensation & Benefits:

Summary Pay Range: $42,000 – $88,000 (annualized, actual pay based on experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations).
