Job Description
Job Title: Civil Engineer Student Intern
Location: Indiana office, within the Transportation Business Unit
Position Type: This is a temporary full-time position for a limited duration.
Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will work on transportation projects, applying their college education and related work experience to develop professionally into a well-rounded engineer. The role is designed to foster growth in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment.

Job Duties:
The intern will assist engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks required for successful project delivery. These tasks may include:
• Transportation design, encompassing roadway design and traffic analysis.
• Preparation of reports, maps, drawings, bid documents, and project plans.
• Performing drainage design analysis, including ditches, storm sewers, and erosion control.
• Developing plans, specifically plan views, profiles, typical sections, and cross sections sheets.
• Writing reports for permits and documentation.
• Performing takeoffs for quantities and cost estimates.
• Possible field assignments, which could involve pavements inventories, culvert inventories, and construction inspection.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
• Required:
• Familiarity with CADD design software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Preferred:
• Proficient in MicroStation.
• Familiarity with roadway design software such as OpenRoads Designer and GEOPAK.
Education:
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or better in Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
• Required: Enrolled in a 4-year engineering degree program.
Licenses & Certifications:
• Required: Driver’s License.
