This is for an enthusiastic Construction Intern position at Suncore Construction & Materials, designed to kickstart a career in construction.
Job Title: Construction Intern
Purpose: To support project managers with essential tasks, providing hands-on experience and learning opportunities within the construction industry.
Pay: Starting at $20 per hour, commensurate with experience (DOE).
Key Responsibilities (Things You’ll Do):
• Project Planning & Estimation Support:
• Assist project managers in planning and reviewing quantity takeoffs.
• Help set up project estimates.
• Conduct field measurements for budgeting and billing purposes.
• Assist with picking up plans and specifications.
• Support the creation of traffic control Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings.
• Daily Business & Logistics Coordination:
• Prepare material price quotes.
• Perform sampling and prepare submittal information for various projects.
• Coordinate logistics related to customer orders.
• Perform data entry using Viewpoint software.
• Data Management & Tracking:
• Input job-related data into estimating software.
• Track supply quantities for billing purposes.
• Learning & Development:
• Actively learn about the construction industry through direct assistance to managers.
Requirements:
• Education:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree program, studying either Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge & Skills:
• Intermediate knowledge of the construction industry.
• Good public relations and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Capability to manage budgets and adhere to tight project schedules.
