Position Title: Grassroots Organizer Intern

Program Focus: This internship is designed for individuals passionate about the environment seeking to start a career in the non-profit sector. It offers hands-on experience in grassroots advocacy, community organizing, and public policy with a direct impact.

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Team: Interns will join the organization’s Field Canvass team.

Current Campaigns: The team is actively engaged in fighting to:
• Reverse the Supreme Court decision that weakened the Clean Water Act.
• Ban PFAS from household products.
• Uplift Environmental Justice communities by holding known pollution facilities accountable.

Internship Duration: The program spans 10 to 16 weeks.

Core Responsibilities: As a Grassroots Organizer Intern, primary duties involve canvassing communities on vital environmental issues. Specific responsibilities include:
One-on-one communication with community members.
Fundraising activities.
• Collecting calls-to-action addressed to lawmakers (e.g., petitions, signatures, and handwritten letters).
Dispersing information to the public.
• Maintaining good record keeping.

Schedule and Compensation:
Position Type: Available as Part-time (3 to 4 days) or Full-time (5 days).
Hours: Daily from 2 pm to 9 pm.
Schedule: Monday through Friday.
Compensation: $16 an hour, with additional bonus opportunities.
