Job Description: Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op

Job Title: Civil Engineering Interns or Co-ops
Location: Jacksonville, FL

Job Summary:
Langan is seeking Civil Engineering Interns or Co-ops to join its collaborative team. This role serves a key function in supporting site feasibility studies, which may involve fieldwork, technical report preparation, calculations, pre-construction conditions documentation, and the creation of design plans and specifications. Interns will have the opportunity to expand their technical and professional knowledge and experience by partnering directly with industry leadership on a variety of exciting land development projects.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Project Support: Assisting with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.
Document Preparation: Assisting with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans. This will involve the use of engineering and design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Data Analysis: Effectively using reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess site characteristics (e.g., soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, topographical and geologic data) and their impact on project planning and design.
Feasibility & Permitting: Supporting zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments; assisting with sidewalk cost estimations; and determining the feasibility of projects based on the analysis of collected data.
Fieldwork: Providing field inspection services as needed.
Technical Application: Applying knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics.
Team Collaboration: Collaborating effectively with team members on project tasks and assignments.
Other Duties: Performing other duties as requested.

Qualifications:
Education: Actively pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering.
Academic Performance: A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
Technical Skills: Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
Teamwork: Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.
Mobility: Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits, along with a valid driver’s license in good standing.
