Job Description, Detailed

Role Title: Grassroots Organizer Intern
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Partnership: This role is advertised through a partnership between WayUp and Clean Water Action.

Position Type:
Internship Duration: 10 to 16 weeks long.
Work Status: Part-time (3 to 4 days per week) or Full-time (5 days per week) options available.

Hours & Schedule:
Daily Hours: 2 pm to 9 pm
Schedule: Monday through Friday

Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Pay: $16 an hour
Additional Compensation: Bonus opportunities

Key Responsibilities:
As a Grassroots Organizer Intern, you will be part of the Field Canvass team and engage in grassroots organizing within communities. Your responsibilities will include:
One-on-one communication with community members.
Fundraising efforts.
Collecting calls-to-actions addressed to lawmakers (e.g., petitions, signatures, handwritten letters).
Dispersing information related to environmental issues and campaigns.
Maintaining good record keeping of interactions and collected data.

Current Issues/Focus Areas:
Interns will be working on vital issues such as:
• Efforts to reverse the Supreme Court decision weakening the Clean Water Act.
• Campaigns to ban PFAS from household products.
• Initiatives to uplift Environmental Justice communities by holding polluters accountable.
