Job Description: Journalist Intern
This is a virtual, unpaid internship for a duration of 6 months, with a start date as soon as possible (ASAP). While the internship does not offer monetary compensation, it provides valuable writing experience. Metro Los Angeles and New York City residents are strongly encouraged to apply, though location is not a strict requirement as the role is virtual.
Responsibilities:
As a Journalist Intern, your primary responsibility will be to:
• Weekly: Write in-depth, industry-related articles, commentary, and/or reviews.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Journalist Intern position will possess:
• Content Focus: The ability and interest to cover film, TV, creator, or business-related content for the site, specifically as it identifies with and relates to A Hot Set’s target demographic (people of color).
• Business Acumen: An aptitude or interest in writing about the business side of the entertainment industry.
• Review Skills: An aptitude or interest in reviewing film or TV series from various genres.
• Critical Thinking: Strong critical and intellectual thinking skills to write socially relevant, fact-based commentary.
