Job Description: Pharmacy Intern

Job Title: Pharmacy Intern

How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:
The Pharmacy Intern role is integral to the healthcare team, working under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist to provide services to Pharmacy customers. This position supports the Pharmacist in delivering Pharmaceutical Care.

Main Areas of Responsibility (may include one or more of the following):
Basic Zone Tech
CRCH Tech
Non-Sterile Compounding
Sterile Compounding
Retail Pharmacy
Other tasks, roles, or responsibilities may be required as appropriate, needed, or assigned.

What We Require:

Education:
• Currently enrolled in an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy or college of pharmacy in candidate status for ACPE accreditation.

Experience:
• Currently enrolled in first through fourth year of a Doctor of Pharmacy program.
• Previous pharmacy work experience is preferred.

License, Certification, and/or Registration:
Virginia Pharmacy Intern License required by the first day of employment.

Other Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to be familiar with a large number of medications, including common strengths, dosage forms, and uses.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient computer and keyboard skills.
• Must be able to solve simple mathematical and logistical problems in the work environment.
• Must be able to work efficiently, manage time wisely, and follow policy and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Must have good interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
