Job Description: Internship Program

VALT Health is seeking driven and adaptable interns to join their early team, contributing to biological research within their lab facility in Fremont, California. While specific experience is not required, the company highly values candidates who demonstrate a strong ability to execute ideas and a genuine willingness to learn.

They are primarily looking for first and second-year college students currently located in the Bay Area, though they maintain flexibility regarding these criteria.

There are three distinct internship openings available:

1. Health Research Intern (remote): This role involves research focused on Public Health and Bioinformatics and does not include any lab work. It is suitable for candidates who can work effectively from a remote location.
2. Health Research Intern (in lab): This position is based in the Fremont lab facility. Interns in this role will participate in hands-on biological research and will receive all necessary trainings to perform their duties effectively and safely.
3. Swiss Army Knife Interns: This unique role offers interns the opportunity to learn every side of a startup. Responsibilities will be diverse, and interns will be expected to help wherever needed across various functions of the company.

Internship Information:

• Duration: The internship program is for a period of 6 months.
• Compensation: It is an unpaid internship, however, it comes with equity opportunities for participants. Exceptional performance can also lead to a fast-track to a paid role.

• Time Commitment: Interns are expected to commit between 10 to 25 hours per week.
• Location Requirements:
• For general collaboration, candidates are ideally California-based for occasional in-person meetings.
• For the “Health Research Intern (in lab)” role, a full-time in-lab presence in Fremont is available for those based in the Bay Area.
• For lab work, the ideal candidate should be able to work in-person 2-3 weekdays per week.
