Job Description: Summer 2026 Intern – Upstream Processes

The Summer 2026 Intern – Upstream Processes position is an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience within Sanofi’s Manufacturing & Supply teams, specifically with the Upstream Processes team. This role is located in Swiftwater, PA.

Role Purpose:
The intern will work closely with a Sanofi scientist and other department members. The aim is to facilitate knowledge sharing and competency development, encouraging individual growth within the field of upstream processes, particularly in fermentation.

Main Responsibilities:
The intern will contribute to several key areas:
• Providing technical contributions in the fermentation area, including troubleshooting and assisting with investigations necessary for project deliverables.
Expanding data analyses of complex systems and learning to determine effective courses of action to resolve roadblocks.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge in technological advancements and regulatory trends pertinent to the area of expertise.
• Proposing applications of new technologies to existing platforms to enhance productivity, throughput, purity, quality, and/or compliance.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, health sciences, information technology, or other STEM-related field from an accredited college or university.
• Expected completion of their current degree by Spring of 2028.
Must be enrolled in school during the semester following the internship/co-op with Sanofi.
• Ability to relocate to Swiftwater, PA, and commit to working 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.

Demonstrated leadership skills and the desire and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Adaptability in a changing and challenging environment.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
• A strong desire to learn about Pharmaceutical and Vaccine production.
