Overview
American Structurepoint’s Utility Infrastructure Group is looking for candidates to join their summer internship program in Fort Wayne, IN. As a Utility Infrastructure Intern, you will collaborate with engineers on real utility projects, specifically focusing on water and stormwater systems. This involves gaining practical experience through design work, calculations, and field visits. Interns will support both office-based tasks and construction activities in the field, while developing crucial skills through structured training. This internship offers an opportunity to enhance technical knowledge, explore a future career, and contribute to projects that improve vital community infrastructure.

Responsibilities (What you will do):
• Collaborate directly with Project Managers and the Indianapolis Department of Public Works team to research data and records for regulatory compliance, gaining real client interaction experience.
• Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS), client databases, and historic records to uncover important project information, enhancing tech and research skills.
• Gain valuable insight into working as a consultant in a client-focused environment, learning effective communication and professional delivery.
• Conduct research, summarize your findings, and assist in preparing key documents such as permit applications, technical exhibits, design drawings, and inspection records.
• Perform other tasks as needed to support the team.
Qualifications:
• Students majoring in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, Land Surveying, Structural Engineering, or related programs with a focus on Civil Engineering.
• Possession of a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license for travel to project sites.
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, and an eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
