Job Description

Job Title: Sustainability Intern
Pay: Pay varies by location.

Summary of the Role:
The Sustainability Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation, evaluation, and promotion of sustainability initiatives within the company’s dining operations. This position involves collaborating with team members to innovate and improve environmental practices, actively engaging with the campus and local community, and serving as an ambassador for American Dining Creations’ values and mission.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and track food waste and recycling efforts within dining facilities (where applicable).
• Engage directly with students and staff to promote various sustainability initiatives and events.
• Provide constructive feedback to cafe management regarding sustainable dining initiatives and best practices.
• Contribute content for social media or internal communications related to sustainability projects.
• Prepare and share observations, recommendations, and best practices for improving sustainable initiatives across the university campus on a quarterly basis.
• Plan and execute at least one major sustainability campaign or project within the campus or local community.
• Act as the primary ambassador for American Dining Creations’ sustainability values and mission.
• May be assigned additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:
Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
Passion: A strong passion for identifying and implementing sustainable dining solutions.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to successfully promote initiatives and engage students, staff, and the community.
Availability: Ability to work up to 10 hours per week.
Work Environment: The role will involve working in a cafe or kitchen environment.
Presentation Skills: Strong presentation skills are required.
Social Media Skills: Basic understanding and proficiency in social media.
Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
