About the Job: Summer Electrical Engineering Internship – Geismar, LA

This is a 10 to 12-week summer internship program for highly motivated undergraduate students at one of BASF’s Geismar, LA sites. The potential start date is late May/early June 2026.

Program Summary & Responsibilities:
• Interns will engage across the business, gaining exposure to leadership, technical, and scientific aspects of plant engineering.
• They will also work in areas of safety and environment to uphold BASF’s high standards.
• Utilizing their Electrical Engineering knowledge, interns will help complete various Engineering projects, providing opportunities to further develop both technical and professional skills.
• Upon completion, interns will have the opportunity to present their summer project to other interns, BASF employees, and senior leaders.
• The internship offers the opportunity for consideration of future roles within the organization.

Application Process (Formula for Success):
• If selected for an interview, candidates will participate in a 45-minute interview with BASF representatives on-site at the Geismar location.

Requirements:
• Currently enrolled as an Undergraduate or Graduate student majoring in Electrical Engineering.
• Specifically, College Sophomores and Juniors (expected graduation between April 2027 and July 2028).
Demonstrated academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future without restrictions or the need for future sponsorship.
Demonstrated previous leadership experience and continued academic achievement.
Active participation in extracurricular activities and on-campus organizations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Outstanding work ethic and leadership potential.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Previous internship/co-op experience is a plus.

Compensation:
• BASF is committed to pay transparency. The competitive pay range for this role is $2,000 – $2,320 on a biweekly basis. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
